Caspa
Tuesday, November 20th U Street Music Hall presents Dub Police label-head Caspa at 9:30 Club, at 10:00 p.m. London-based DJ/producer Caspa, is one of dubstep's most influential figures; having founded several major dubstep labels (Dub Police, Sub Soldiers and Storming Productions) hosting/nourishing the careers of Emalkay, Trolley Snatcha and The Others (to name a few). Having collaborated with the likes of Rusko (for FabricLive.37) and remixing for Ludacris, Deadmau5, Kaskade, Swedish House Mafia and Katy B, Caspa has remained a leader throughout the dubstep community, spinning Hardfest, Lollapalooza and throughout Europe.
Helicopter Showdown - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
Helicopter Showdown
The four person Bay Area production force known as Helicopter Showdown has earned the reputation in the underground bass music culture as "Wu Tang" of Dubstep. These West coast bass monsters have been turning heads and crashing parties worldwide with their unique blend of heavy dubstep and melodic electro house. Having dominated the Bay Area bass music scene over the past year, HS has been called out of their homeland to perform and curate events all over the country in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Baltimore, Denver, Philadelphia, Seattle, Houston, Detroit, and Las Vegas to name a few. Supported by such highly respected artists as Rusko, Borgore, Mt. Eden, Calvertron, Skism, Downlink, and Reid Speed amongst others, their music is quickly being recognized everywhere from the most distinguished UK dubstep pioneers to the smaller pockets of bassheads in middle USA.

In the last year, after teaming up with close friend, collaborator, and UltraGore label mate/owner Sluggo, the HS crew smashed their way onto the Beatport charts with their debut release "The Wrestler" [Ultragore], followed by "Hostages" [Ultragore] and most recently "Holy Ghost" [Play Me] feat. MC Messinian. Recently HS has become even more of a household name in the Beatport Dubstep charts, planting themselves firm within the top 20 with their latest release "Drop It Again" with Calvertron off the "Flight or Fight EP" [Play Me]. They are currently finishing up their next Ultragore EP with Sluggo featuring the fresh vocal talents of Bryan Dallas and Young Aunde, and have a laundry list of collaborations in store that will make 2012 a marquee year for them.

Helicopter Showdown also stands out from the rest of the bass community due in part to their reputation for holding their fans in the highest regard, proving their love through their consistent efforts to give away FREE music; with highly acclaimed releases "Gucci Gucci (Helicopter Showdown & IB Remix)" [US Dubstep], "Waiting" with BoyKidCloud [Squitty Bubbler], "Dramatron" [Squitty Bubbler Most Popular 2011], "Beat Down" [Squitty Bubbler Most Popular January 2011] and the classic "Whistle Tips" with Point.blank [Dubsaw/Squitty Bubbler Most Popular October 2010] all given gratis to their hungry fanbase. HS even takes it one step farther, giving away free downloads of their signature sounds and production templates.

With their dedication to production, their fans, and taking their four person team onto the stage and turning any given party into a full blown event, keep a close eye on Helicopter Showdown as they bring the party from the West Coast underground to a city near you.
Willy Joy - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Willy Joy
Chicago partymaster Willy Joy's "Fly By Night" parties have become infamous touchstones of the eclectic new dance party sound coming out of the Windy City. His DJ sets and original productions have been packing sweaty dancefloors across the country from major festivals like Lollapalooza to your cousin's basement. He was recently asked to become Kid Sister's tour DJ, and his newest track, titled "R...un Up", made with Rob Threezy and released on Trouble & Bass Records, has been tearing up clubs across the country. With his releases getting support from the likes of Diplo, Drop The Lime, Brodinski & Boy 8 Bit, as well as near-constant touring throughout the USA and beyond, Willy is set to blow up fast. URB Magazine named him one of the Next 100 artists to watch - come see him live and you'll instantly know why.
Gent & Jawns - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Gent and Jawns is what happens when two buds, Billy the Gent and Long Jawns combine forces and create club devastation. Their first release was arguably one of the most played and most sweated to moombahton tracks in existence, "Vibrate". Now they have a new EP with us "Holler", it's a Moombahton hard hitter with a touch of New Orleans bounce that has seen support all over the moombah world. Now packed with mind melting remixes from Valentino Khan and Heartbreak it definitely a problem. We also see a huge b-side with this package, Gent and Jawns try their hand at 128 beats per minute and the result is the floor ready "Bugoff". Sidechain heavy production with throaty synths, think Toadally Krossed Out but insects instead of Amphibians at the wheels.
