you two should get together, play some instruments, go out on the road . . . and call yourself "shitty band".

Y'know... sackbutt, mountain dulcimer, Jew's harp, harmonium. (Well, that's only 3/4 true but I'm a fast learner). Feel like if we combined forces we could be a Renaissance back-woods version of Neon Indian.

Rennfaire-wave is that new ish. That next level ish.

Sounds like a shitty band alright.

(Before someone jumps on me, I actually like Neon Indian a bunch.)

Man, we've had enough Semantics 101 on this thread; I got no axes to grind. I just don't need yr approval to dance around to pop music.

Plus, I know everyone thinks they suck -- fuck, that's why I jokingly brought them up to begin with.

Pavement

Mysterious shadow organization from Northern California (the bad part that no one has been to).  Debut Slanted & Enchanted takes the concept of indie rock to its logical, possibly drug addled conclusion and is released in 92 in response to Spin naming it album of the year.  When no one was looking, with civilization at the crossroads of the internet age and the grunge-led Alternative Rock tidal wave crashing hard, released Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain in early 94, again taking indie rock to its logical conclusion, only the exact opposite, and returned so-called alternative music back to its equilibrium and made the world safe for the future.  Subsequently disappeared while still an unsubstantiated rumor only to return years later to perform at Freefest.
