Chelsea Cutler

Chelsea Cutler

Chelsea Cutler captures the sound of vulnerability and self-discovery, leaning into discomfort and emerging with a confidence that can only be earned through growth. One song might dry the tears of heartbreak and disappointment with genuine empathy, while another could just as easily soundtrack an emotional comeback with a lyrical affirmation. She makes anthemic pop with singer-songwriter earnestness, infusing big feelings into bold hooks.

The multi-platinum singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer isn’t afraid to speak her mind or wear her heart on her sleeve. This approach has endeared Chelsea to a devout audience around the world. In addition to amassing billions of streams across her catalogue, she has garnered six Gold singles and two Platinum singles. Thus far, she has delivered three fan-favorite albums: How To Be Human [2020], When I Close My Eyes [2021], and Stellaria [2023], earning acclaim from Billboard, Variety, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, NPR, Forbes 30 Under 30, and more. In between her albums, Chelsea and Jeremy Zucker collaborated on the acclaimed brent EP [2019], brent ii EP [2021], and brent iii album [2024], followed by their first-ever tour together, which was completely sold out. She has also sold out worldwide headline tours, lent her voice to tracks with Noah Kahan, Kygo, Quinn XCII, Louis The Child, and others, and performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and Today Show.

After the Brent Forever Tour with Jeremy, Chelsea spent much of 2025 at home in New York City, stepping away from the nightly rhythm of touring and into an expected period of her life that found her newly single after a serious relationship. She was experiencing a kind of post-breakup freedom that had rarely appeared in her music before, as she went out, met new people, dated, and moved through the highs and lows that came with figuring out who she was on her own. Along the way, she rediscovered inspirations in books, films, and artists, including M83, Bon Iver, Mk.gee, and Clams Casino, allowing creativity to return on its own terms without pressure or expectation.

That freedom opened the door to IS THIS THE END?, Chelsea’s fourth studio album, arriving September 25th via Mercury Records. Deeply influenced by New York City and the experiences that have shaped her adult life there, the record moves through the chaos, exhilaration, heartbreak, uncertainty, and self-discovery of her late twenties. Late nights turn into early mornings, relationships begin and unravel, and moments of euphoria collide with pain and introspection. Sonically and visually, Chelsea also reconnects with the worlds that first made her want to become an artist, drawing inspiration from the music she loved in her late teens and early twenties.

“To me, this record is truly everything all at once,” Chelsea says, describing a New York of sunsets over the West Side Highway, the Manhattan skyline, rooftop nights, first dates, new kisses, dancing until four in the morning, heartbreak, grief, and the stillness of the city at sunrise. At the center are the questions that surface in the middle of all that motion: “Am I becoming who I am supposed to be? Do I even like myself? Am I making the right decisions? Is this the life I want? Am I going to be okay? Do you really ever know?”

The album’s recent singles have introduced that emotional and sonic world from different angles. First single “BAD” captured the thrill and contradiction of a newly single chapter, while “SORRY I’M OBSESSED WITH YOU” and “WHAT ELSE?” pushed further into the freedom of creating without guardrails. “THIS TIME OF THE YEAR” turns inward, revisiting the kind of love that never disappears completely and the sensory details that can make an old relationship feel suddenly present again. Together, the songs trace a chapter rooted not in having everything figured out, but in accepting every version of yourself along the way.

“This album is chaos and mess, hurt and healing, motion and stillness, rebellion and acceptance, ignorance and revelation, shame and pride,” Chelsea shares. “It is everything I’ve felt and everything I’ve been. I do not like every version of myself that exists on this album, but I love that about it. I want people to find solidarity in it. I want people to know it’s okay to be chaotic and messy sometimes. It’s also okay to pivot, change your mind, recalibrate, and reorient. And lastly, it’s okay to accept and embrace yourself through it all.”

For Chelsea, IS THIS THE END? is the sound of returning to the reason she started making music in the first place: to process, to experiment, and to be honest about whatever she is feeling in the moment. “I feel like I’m back,” she affirms. “All of the reasons why I fell in love with making music in the first place are present again. This is what I want to do. Hopefully, you can hear how excited I am in the songs.”
