Q: Where is the club located?

Q: How can I purchase tickets for 9:30?

A: Advance tickets can be purchased through www.ticketfly.com or by phone @ 1.877.4-FLY-TIX (877-435-9849). Tickets can also be purchased in person from the 9:30 box office, as well as the Merriweather Post Pavilion box office. 9:30 Box office hours are 12-7, Monday-Friday (11pm on nights we have shows) and 6-11 on weekend show nights only. The box office accepts CASH, VISA, Master Card, American Express and Discover. A flat $1.00 per ticket service charge will apply to all in-person advance purchases.

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges unless a show is cancelled.

Q: What type of payment does 9:30 accept?

A: The box office accepts CASH, VISA, Master Card, American Express and Discover. The bars accept CASH, VISA and Master Card only. The Merchandise counter typically only accepts CASH. An ATM is located inside the club.

Q: How old do you have to be to attend shows at 9:30?

A: Unless otherwise posted our club is All-Ages, All The Time.

Q: My child wants to attend an all-ages show at 9:30, but I feel nervous?

A: We’ve been doing all-ages shows for many years, but the decision to let your son or daughter come to a show here is obviously up to you as a parent. We suggest attending a show with your child so you can get a first-hand experience of how we run the club and treat our patrons. We’re confident that once you’ve been here you’ll feel comfortable about allowing your child to come to 9:30 shows.

Q: Do I need ID to enter the venue?

A: An ID is only required if you plan on drinking alcohol. Because we are an all-ages venue we take checking ID’s very seriously. In compliance with DC laws anyone 21 and older who plans on drinking alcohol will have to show a valid, non-expired, government issued photo ID, no matter how old you think you may look. Anyone without proper ID, regardless of age, will be treated as under 21 and not allowed to buy, hold or drink alcohol. This policy is strictly enforced and any violation will result in immediate ejection from the venue.

Q: Does the 9:30 Club have seats?

A: Unless a show is advertised as seated, which is rare, our shows are general admission and standing room only. A very small number of bar stools are available on a first-come, first-serve basis in the balcony. Patrons with special needs should call 202.265.0930 in advance to make arrangements.

Q: What time does the band go on?

A: The time listed on your ticket and on the purchase page of the website is the door time, not the show time. Set times vary and typically are not announced till the day of the show. Daily set times can be found on the front page in the “Tonight” section. Please keep in mind that set times, as well as opening acts, are always subject to change without notice.

Q: What time should I get there to get a good place to see the show?

A: We like to think that there are no bad sight lines in the club, but if you’re one of those folks who needs to be right up front or along the balcony railing we suggest you be in line before doors open. Keep in mind that no matter how early you line up there may already be people ahead of you in line and you are not guaranteed any particular spots inside.

Q: Does the club offer food?

A: Yes, we have a very tasty menu that includes sandwiches, wraps, paninis, sweets and other yummy edibles. In addition to meat items, our menu is also vegetarian and vegan friendly. Please click here to view our full menu & beverage list.

Q: How about drinks?

A: We have 4 full bars located within the club offering a terrific selection of both draft and bottled beers along with your favorite spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. The club also offers a coffee bar with a delicious assortment of caffeine-fueled fun.

Q: Do you have a dress code?

A: We only insist that you be dressed and wear shoes. Sensible footwear is strongly advised and there are occasionally shows where spiked jewelry and chains will not be allowed. Personal items such as pocket knives, pepper spray, flasks, outside food and drinks or anything that could be considered dangerous or contraband will not be allowed in the building. Purses and bags will be searched prior to entry.

Q: Do you have a coat check?

A: We do, but it is a seasonal thing @ $2.00 per item. During warmer weather there will not be a place to check jackets or bags.

Q: Can I smoke in the club?

A: No. DC has an indoor smoking ban, however most nights we allow reentry and should you want to smoke we will let you in and out.

Q: Are you near the METRO?

A: Yes, we are 2 blocks from the Green Line U St / African American Civil War Memorial / Cardozo Station. Make sure you exit toward 10th Street to be closest to the club. Last Train Home: Sun-Thurs 11:44p, Fri-Sat 2:30a. For further Metro information please visit wmata

Q: What about parking?

A: There is a monitored lot on 9th Street, run by the club. Parking is $12 in advance, $15 night of show. On busy nights the lot fills up quick so we recommend purchasing advance parking tix along with your concert tix. Please note that the parking lot is not open to the public till one hour before doors.

Q: What are your policies regarding photo/video/audio?

A: Recording policies are at the bands discretion and change night to night. You may bring your camera with the understanding that you might need to check it with us for the duration of the show.

Q: When do you announce new shows?

A: Most new shows are announced and updated on our website Thursday mornings.

Q: Is 9:30 hiring?

A: We’re always accepting applications. Stop by the box office between 12 and 7 on a weekday to fill out an application.
